About our Kiln Dried Logs
NFP forestry supply kiln dried logs and kindling wood from our farm in Horsham. All our timber is sustainably sourced from managed coppiced woodland around Sussex, Surrey and Kent.
The kiln drying process takes four days from start to finish and ensures all timber is dried to maximum moisture content of 20%.This ensures a really good clean burning log which is ideal for wood burners and actually increases the burn time.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much is delivery?
All kiln dried and seasoned log delivery within a 15 miles radius of Horsham is free of charge . If you're not sure, or you're outside the area please let us know there may be a small surcharge. We've delivered logs to Haywards Heath, Pulborough, Petworth, Washington, have several clients in Crawley, Steyning and Cranleigh.
What days do you deliver?
You can order online or over the phone . We will contact you after your purchase to arrange a delivery slot that works with you and aim to deliver within 24-48 hours.
What type of fire wood do you supply?
We supply Ash (the King of Firewood) which is generally considered the best log type for wood burners and stoves due to its steady flame and heat production.
What's the difference between seasoned and kiln dried wood?
Seasoned logs have been carefully stacked and allowed to dry naturally which can take 6-18 months.
Kiln drying wood allows the process to be sped up (4 days) and the moisture controlled and measured to ensure it's less than the stove manufacturers recommended 20% so the wood burns and your stove doesnt blacken.
How can I pay?
At the moment our preferred payment method is cash on delivery which gives you the confidence that you get to see and receive the logs before making payment.
We will be adding online payment in early 2020. Before then, if you would prefer to send the payment to us in advance - let us know with a comment in your shopping cart and we'll contact you.
